LUX Assure, a specialist in the provision of chemical monitoring technologies, have secured a contract to work with Shell under their GameChanger programme. LUX Assure will take on a field testing and development project that will conclude in January 2020.
Shell’s collaborative GameChanger programme works with businesses that have novel and innovative ideas which have the potential to impact the energy sector. The programme provides funding, support and expertise to companies to help de-risk their technologies and bring them closer to market.
The 8-month project will aim to extend the capabilities of LUX Assure’s successful CoMicTM technology, which is a method for monitoring corrosion inhibitors in oil field fluids. The technical team at LUX will be working with Shell to field test a new product feature, specifically an automated data processing software that converts data into ‘real-time’ information that can be used for on-site chemical and system integrity management and assurance. LUX Assure will also research how CoMicTM could be better integrated into existing operational management systems in the oil and gas industry.

LUX Assure currently delivers two key technologies, CoMicTM and OMMICA™, which together represent a revolution in monitoring and managing difficult-to-detect chemicals on-site in oil, condensates and water, specifically the thermodynamic hydrate inhibitors and corrosion inhibitors used to protect oilfield assets, on and offshore.
